A Brief Bio on C. Lynn Williams

C. Lynn Williams, is an author, wife and mother of four adult children. She holds a Masters in Business Administration, having attended Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to writing, she is an avid reader, health enthusiast, and educator.

Universal Tips to Parenting Effectively and Staying Sane While Parenting Teens

The radio show interview covered a broad range of concerns parents have when it comes to raising kids and offered invaluable tips for staying sane while parenting teens.

Williams revealed a lot of tips that mothers and fathers can utilize to raise teenagers, featuring the following practical concepts:

* Parents should take time off for themselves, including resting and exercising to stay healthy.

* Every parent should stick to enforcing their own rules. Even when teens are on the edge of their adult years, they require some framework, and parents should follow through on consequences for bad behavior to provide parental consistency.

* Parents should remain parents and not try to become the child's best friend. While it is harmless to enjoy spending time with teens in some leisure activity, parents should refrain from crossing the line of acceptable and legal behavior, like, for example, drinking with their teen.

* Parents should set an example, rather than expect their children to follow different rules than they themselves do.

* Mothers and fathers must spend quality time with each child, becoming familiar with their interests in life.

* Every parent should continue the tradition of sharing meals with their children. This remains one of the very best ways to have purposeful discussions in a friendly setting.

* Parents should learn the love language of their kids, and should also relate to each gender accordingly. For instance, girls often enjoy talking while boys like to do things.

Williams covered numerous topics like parenting tweens, children older than ten but younger than fourteen; topics like when and how to seek professional assistance if necessary; topics like how to manage teens when they test limits; and topics like how parents had to develop a helpful network of educators, neighbors, and family members when raising teens.

Her books on the theme of parenting effectively are remarkably popular and changing the way that we look at parenting, giving us much-needed answers on what to do and how to do it. Parenting is not easy and hearing words of wisdom from a seasoned parent is priceless wisdom.
